DIY: Picture Frames

I am so happy the weekend is almost here.
Are you guys ready for New Years?
Guess what?
I am going to San Diego
WOOT WOOT

So remember how I talked about
finishing Sebastian's Xmas gifts on
my last posts? Well he finally received
everything on Monday so I can now post
about it. Yes ladies .. he reads my blog so
I couldn't put anything up to reveal my surprise.

It's really easy to make. I got the idea from
Nicole. Check her out HERE

Materials:
4 Frames
Multi Purpose Spray Enamel
(Flat Black)
Mod Podge
Pictures
Scissors
Brush
Black/White Acrylic
Wood Letters/Shapes

Let's start
1. I wanted my frames black so I spray painted them.
Make sure the frames are clean and have a smooth surface.
Hold the can about six inches from the object and starting
from left to right, spray back and forth. Let the first coat
dry and go for a second one repeating the same step.

Once the frames dry completely
move on to the fun part...

2. Measure the size of the inside of the frame.
I used a piece of paper to help me cut the picture.

3. Apply a thin coat of mod podge to the frame. Let it dry.
Once it is dry, apply a thin coat of mod podge to the
back of the picture. Place it on the frame and make sure
it adheres properly. Smooth out wrinkles and check that
the corners are completely glued. Let it dry for 25 minutes.

4. Now apply the top coat. Be careful with this step
because you don't want to mess up your photo.
Grab the brush and stroke from left to right, right to
left. Let dry completely and follow up with 2 or 3
more coats. I only did two coats for my frames.

Tadaaaa

After the pictures on the frames were dry,
I painted the wood letters/shapes in white and
used a black marker to decorate the shapes.
I used Fix All Adhesive to glue them to the frames.

As you can see .. I did the same thing on a wood letter.

I had so much fun doing this.
The best part is to know how happy
Sebastian got when he received the gift. It's
the first time I was actually able to keep
the surprise to myself. Sometimes I can't
help it and I have to show him. Not this time.

If you guys try it out
let me know.
I would love to see what
you come up with.
